Committees and Planned Community Activities
Architectural Control Committee (ACC) – Established in our Governing Documents, the ACC is responsible for reviewing any proposed improvements or changes to the property within Huntley Meadows for safety, harmony of external design, color and location in relation to surrounding structures and topography and conformity with the design concept for the community. The ACC, with the approval and consent of the Board of Directors, may also establish standards and criteria regarding architectural styles or details, colors and material relative to the architectural control and protection of the environment within the Community. The ACC can issue rules or regulations regarding the form and content of plans or specifications to be submitted to the ACC for approval.
Grounds Committee – Established by the Board of Directors as a sub-Committee of the ACC, the Grounds Committee is tasked with overseeing the maintenance of the grounds and common areas within the Community, including the contracts for grounds maintenance, trash removal and snow removal, and other grounds maintenance related functions like community clean-up days, fire lane striping, parking space markings, etc.
Newsletter (Writing, Production, Distribution) – Each year the Board of Directors intends to appoint one or more individuals to help the Board prepare a regular Newsletter for Huntley Meadows. The Newsletter is an important communication tool that will help keep residents informed of Association activities and events. In addition to a lead editor, this effort needs volunteers to contribute in terms of writing articles, gathering information about events, or otherwise helping with production or distribution.
Web Site – In November 2007, we launched a Community web site for Huntley Meadows. If you are interested in helping with news items or photos and such, please sign-up to help the Web Site Administrator.
Special Events (Cookout, Clean-up Day, etc.) – The Board of Directors would like to continue to sponsor special events, like the Halloween Picnic and the annual Clean-up Day Picnic. These events provide opportunities for neighbors to meet and get to know one another. Please let the Board know if you are interested in taking the lead to organize and oversee a special community event.
Neighborhood Watch Contact – Community safety is important for all of us. In order to maintain our Neighborhood Watch Program, the Community must identify a point of contact for the Police. We need lead contacts for both Huntley Meadows Lane and Ransom Place.
Other – If you would like to propose the establishment of a committee or team, or otherwise volunteer for something not specifically identified on the form, please submit a brief description of the purpose, function and operation of the committee to the Board of Directors for consideration. |
